Now we will discuss some aspects of the featured films which make it a nomination.
A Star Is Born, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
In this film Bradley first debut as the director. Besides that, he also became a significant player, producer, and scriptwriter. Many people think that Gaga and Cooper’s acting in this film is very brilliant and deserves an Oscar. The film tells the love story about Jack (Bradley Cooper), a star, and Ally (Lady Gaga), a bar employee. You will find the fact that the life of a star turns out to be an unpleasant time. Behind the camera, there is someone who is fragile and has a lot of problems. A Star Is Born displays strong characters from the players and invites the audience to understand Ally and Jack’s love affair through the deep lyrics.
First Man, starring Ryan Gosling
First Man is a fact-based movie about legendary astronaut Neil Armstrong. In this film, Gosling stars as Armstrong, an engineer-pilot-astronaut who is smart, brave, and remarkably stoic. Gosling gives a fabulous performance for the role. He doesn’t overact and seems t0 understand the character truly. This Movie has beautiful cinematography and plenty of nerve-wracking moments.
Can You Ever Forgive Me
Starring Melissa McCarthy, this film is the true story of a tragic author Lee Israel. Lee wrote traditional biographies about famous women and soon down on her luck and desperate. She figures out a way to forge famous author correspondences and pass them of as the real deal. She starts with fraud and ends up stealing actual documents from libraries. This film shows the incredibly annoying character and reveals the humanity and sadness to the point where it triggers rapt attention, curiosity, and compassion.
The Favorite, starring Olivia Colman
Tells about England in the early 18th century, a frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) occupies the throne and, her close friend Lady Sarah governs the country in her stead. Queen Anne lives a life pained by gout, a childish demeanor, and locked in a relationship with court lady favorite Lady Sarah. Then, Lady Sarah cousin’s, Abigail, arrive at the palace of Queen Anne. Abigail is at her cousin’s mercy but soon rise from a scullery maid to a rival of her cousin. This movie is a tooth-and-claw duel of elegant backstabbing that plays out between two cousins. The appeal of this film is a representation of a power struggle centered on three women. Besides the story, the costume and production design is drop dead gorgeous and also reflect the character’s personality. The Favourite is a show us a wicked frolic through a world of high stakes gossip, manipulation, and snobbery.
